The suspicious man is Huang Si, someone Rui Qian hired to get info on Yun Hai for H3.
- Murong Yun Hai – His father is Murong Zhong Shi, China’s most notable real estate owner. His only weakness is that he is too tall. He grew up in Australia.
Meanwhile, Yun Hai has a meeting with the school’s principal. Yun Hai asks him to expel him but the principal looks at expelling students as a failure.
H3’s spy not not only has info on Yun Hai but on the school’s principal.
- Aliceton’s Principal – He was the top of his class at Cambridge University. His hobby and his weakness is disciplining students. His worst fear is failing his students.
H3 also finds out that the principal has a meeting with the school board on the third of every month. H3 find this useful. Huang Si is then taken away by campus security.
Yun Hai and Yu Xun find that they are in the same class together.
When class begins Yun Hai stands and states (in English, mind you) that if he finds that he does not like the school he would like the teacher to support him in this decision. The teacher is not impressed and tells him he cannot speak English in his class.
Yu Xun demands that Yun Hai be kicked out of class for disrupting class. She is kicked out instead.
When Yun Hai tries to leave as well the teacher tells him to sit down and that he will be watching him and his studies very closely for now on.
At lunch H3 is plotting something against the principal when he attends his monthly school board meeting.
Behind them a classmate named Li Long is wooing a classmate. H3 comes over and reveals that he is a scam artist that woos girls into giving him money. Li Long is forced to announce to the entire campus he is a scammer when H3 threatens him for his scamming.
Meanwhile Yun Hai stops at a car viewing. H3 shows up there also. They decide to have a race after some choice words and a questioning of Yun Hai’s driving skills. If either party loses they have to buy the other party a car.
After a tension filled race, which included sudden rain, Yun Hai wins. Note: If you get a chance, check out the race. It’s pretty awesome.
Later on Ye Shou finds Yun Hai (who is upset that he cannot find a way out of Aliceton) at the gaming room which Yun Hai has bought out for the evening. Ye Shou challenges him to a game. Ye Shou wins so Yun Hai must leave the game room as was the agreement they made. Although, to be fair, Yun Hai admitted he was not good at the videogame they played at the very beginning.
Yun Hai arrives at his dorm room and finds that he is rooming with Duan Mu Lei. Duan Mu Lei tells him not to worry about seeing each other because he is confident that he won’t be at the school for much longer. Yun Hai becomes suspicious of this.
The next morning H3 puts their plan in motion which is to loosen the tires on the Principal’s car so that he cannot attend his monthly school board meeting. Yun Hai appears and tells them they need a better plan that is not so dangerous.
The principal then appears. Yun Hai tries to hide the bolt wrench behind him but when one of the H3 tries to take it from him it drops to the ground for the principal to see and they are taken to the Principal’s office.
The principal tells them that he will not be defeated so easily. When asked if he will expel them he answers:
Principal: 1) I never give up on a student, 2) Your families are big contributors to the school. I, at least, need to be responsible to them. I will do my best to nurture you. You want me to expel you? You can forget it.
He orders them to clean the main atrium as punishment.
Elsewhere, Yu Xun finds out her uncle will be the school’s gardener.
In the main atrium H3 and Yun Hai decide to team up to defeat the principal. When they appear on campus together the school is all a buzz while Yu Xun is upset by this.
Later on Yu Xun and her roommate are at a cafe. Yu Xun’s roommate is being wooed by Li Long (the scam artist from earlier). He’s so good that even Yu Xun is even falling for it.
H4 show up at the same cafe and decide to sit at the same table when they see the scam artist’s next victims.
Sweet sound of the Day:We Interwined – The Hush Sound The characters are already establishing relationships. Well, H4, previously H3, that is.

This is the new addition to the Hana Yori Dango franchise. Please note that while this version features the same HYD characters the plot has been slightly changed for legal reasons. Personally, I enjoy the fact that we’ll be getting a slightly different version from the preceding versions. Click on the image above for more info on the series. This will also be where I’ll be the getting the spelling of the characters so please don’t yell at me if any spelling is wrong.
Just to prevent any confusion (which is very likely) I will include the chart below (unfortunately I don’t know who to credit for this but they should know I love it):

I am starting pretty late on this one so the show will be ending before I finish but I will try to steadily publish recaps so that I won’t finish too long after it completely airs. I will keep this as short as possible. I will more than likely add in some opinions at the end but, again, I’ll keep it short.
The Sweet Sound of the Day will more than likely have nothing to do with the actual show but check them out anyway. It’ll always depends on what I’m listening to that day.
Chu Yu Xun is excited to receive a long awaited acceptance letter from the prestigious Aliceton University. She is very excited.
Murong Yun Hai, who is laid up in the hospital with a broken leg from his most recent car race, also receives an acceptance letter from Aliceton but he is not so happy about it.
Yun Hai escapes from the hospital and his loyal butler. He catches a cab and tells the cab driver to go a destination that we are not privy to just yet. Yun Hai begins instructing the cab driver how to drive faster. The cab driver is impressed and Yun Hai explains he is a professional driver.
The cab ends up behind a blissful Yu Xun who is riding her bike to her new school. Neither party notices each other.
Yun Hai and the cab driver fight over control of the cab in order to avoid Yu Xun. The cab ends up knocking her off her bike and the cab swerves to the side of the road.
After seeing that Yu Xun is alright Yun Hai gives the cab driver money after he complains that his cab has died. When he tries to give money to Yu Xun to make up for her good mood being ruined she refuses saying that she wants justice.
Instead he clumsily walks away . When she sees him struggling she decides to take him the rest of the way to his destination. She throws him off when he makes an insulting comment.
He enters a car dealership wanting to buy a new car but he finds that his butler and his mother are already there. His mother tells him that he must attend Aliceton University. His parents think it is safer if he prepares to take over the family business instead of risking his life in racing. She takes his driving license.
Yu Xun arrives at Aliceton and saves a student from being hit by a flying shoe. Turns out this student is being harassed by the Handsome 3 (H3) for wearing the same shoes as H3’s leader, Shangguan Rui Qian.
Yu Xun is confronted by H3 for interfering. As they walk away she sees Duan Mu Lei, who picks up a trash can that was knocked over by one of the H2, and feels she has met him before (automatic connection).
Meanwhile, Yun Hai is back in the hospital. His sister, Murong Yun Duo, visits him. She informs him that his mother will buy him the car he tried to buy earlier but he has to graduate from Aliceton before he can even touch it.
Xu Li Li, a friend Yu Xun made earlier and her dorm roommate, tells her that H3 continue to be so horrible in school because they want to get expelled. Their families forced them to attend the school in order to take over their respective family businesses. She also tells her who H3 are:
- Shangguan Rui Qian – His father has monopolized the elite tourism industry (hotels, theme parks, etc.). He is a great basketball player. The richest of H3.
- Ye Shuo – His brother, Ye Nian, owns China’s biggest videogame company. While many think his brother is the videogame mastermind in actuality it is Ye Shuo, who is a computer whiz, who is creating the videogames. He also receives a large cut of the money made off these same videogames.
- Duan Mu Lei- Not as rich as the rest of H3 but is considered the “prince on a white horse” among the girls. His father and mother are the top neurosurgeon and leading gynocologist, respectively, in America. He would like to be a pianist. His family wants him to be a doctor but he faints at the sight of blood.
Yu Xun learns that Aliceton is very strict and practices military style living while the students live in the dorms.
Yun Hai returns home and is fully healed. His mother tells him he has to start Aliceton tomorrow.
The next day Yu Xun confronts H3 when they cut in line during lunch. She and Rui Qian exchange words. Mu Lei stops Rui Qian before he loses his temper.
Later on, while Yu Xun is reading on the lawn, numerous boys come to her one by one telling her that they are pigs. She finds out that Rui Qian is playing these boys in basketball and the loser has to tell a girl that they are pigs. She confronts Rui Qian and tells him that he is the pig. Before walking away she throws the basketball down and it bounces to make a perfect basket. H3 are flabbergasted as she walks away.
Yun Hai arrives at Aliceton remembering his mother’s words that his actions are being reported to her 24/7.
H3 are on the basketball court. Yun Hai walks past them and steps on Rui Qian’s sneakers after he mentions how proud he is of them.
Yun Hai insults Rui Qian’s shoes. Rui Qian tells him to apologize but Yun Hai comes back and steps on his sneakers again instead. Rui Qian’s temper gets the better of him and he lunges at Yun Hai. Yun Hai blocks him and eventually flings him to the ground. Apparently he is a black belt in taekwondo.
Rui Qian vows he will get back at him for this. Yun Hai tells him to choose an activity they can compete in so that he can get back at him. They decide, of course, on basketball.
The game is attended by the whole school. After a tension filled game, Yun Hai wins 21-20.
The students, including H2, applaud both players for a brilliant game.
Rui Qian proceeds to fulfill his task as the loser: Tell the first girl he sees that they are a pig. This girl happens to be Yu Xun.
When he realizes it is her he repeats it multiple times until she finally punches him. By this time everyone has come outside to see this.
Yun Hai appears reminding Rui Qian that part of the deal was that he could not react to her reaction no matter what.
At this point Yu Xun and Yun Hai find out that they are attending the same school. They exchange words. She calls him selfish, childish, etc. He calls her dumb.
As she is walking away Mu Lei steps up:
Yu Xun: 1) I’m not snobby.
2) I’m angry. My name is not “hey”. It’s Chu Yu Xun.
3) Don’t find me to play these meaningless games. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you all become real pig heads!
Mu Lei: Are you done?
Yu Xun: Yes.
Mu Lei: You’re not a complete idiot. You can count to 3.
H3 walks away and so do the rest of the students.
Yun Hai stops Yu Xun. She reacts quickly and gives another listing saying she is annoyed, her name is not “hey”, they had better leave her alone, and that she not dumb.
Yun Hai is amused by this and answers:
Yun Hai: 1) Your annoyance is written all over your face.
2) “Hey” is a way to get attention.
3) These “meaningless games” make you angry
This is all proof that you are dumb.
She tells him that he is unoriginal and she never wants to see him again but he informs her there is good news and bad news (Note: This is a running catchphrase with Yun Hai and his family. Just like every 90’s sitcom character.) Bad news: He will be attending the school for now on. Good news: He never befriends dumb people but at least someone will be here to remind her that she is a pig.
This upsets her. Before she leaves she says:
Yu Xun: “You’re a pig” is for people who lack vocabulary. Let me tell you something: You can be a wild, rich, spotty, naked, stupid, retarded, Ukrainian, or ugly pig. But YOU are a lazy animal that eats everything inside your farm. You are the most sad, lonely, and hopeless animal. A stupid “oink, oink” that will never get anywhere in life.
Yun Hai is left flabbergasted.
On another part of campus a very suspicious man is sneaking around campus and drops the official file of Murong Yun Hai on the ground as H3 walks up to him.
Sweet Sound of the Day:I Want You – Kelly Clarkson I thought this was appropriate in that it’s fun and poppy. Plus it sums up the fiery attraction everyone is having towards each other.
